GOOD MORNING DIGESTION!

Healthy and happy digestion is the foundation of health. This is why Yoga and Qigong have amazing techniques to clear stagnation, open the fascia, and light our digestive fire.

In traditional Chinese medicine the hours of the spleen and stomach are 7am-9am. This is the best time to practice purging and circulating energy through the digestive organs before you eat breakfast.

The YOQI Morning Routine for Happy Digestion begins with "Attune warmups" to wake up the body and clear stagnation from the digestive organs. From here we move into "Tonify and Circulation" movements for the Earth Element.

Engaging in early morning exercise and meditation can significantly contribute to enhancing digestion and promoting overall well-being. As the body awakens from a night of rest, physical activity jumpstarts the metabolism and stimulates the digestive system. The light aerobic exercises of this qigong routine increase blood flow to the digestive organs, promoting efficient nutrient absorption and aiding in the elimination of waste. Moreover, exercise has been shown to reduce stress, a major factor in digestive issues. By incorporating these activities into the early morning routine, individuals can create a positive environment for their digestive system to function optimally throughout the day.

In addition to physical activity, the morning meditation within qigong adds a complementary dimension to digestive health. Stress and anxiety can have a detrimental impact on the digestive process, leading to issues such as indigestion and bloating. Meditation, with its focus on deep breathing and mindfulness, helps to calm the nervous system and alleviate stress. This, in turn, facilitates better digestion by allowing the body to shift into a relaxed state conducive to efficient nutrient absorption. The combination of early morning qigong exercise and meditation not only sets a positive tone for the day but also fosters a harmonious connection between the mind and body, ultimately contributing to improved digestion and overall wellness.
